CES Fun Run 2011 and going the extra mile

Each year I try to go to the Fun Run and get pictures of our girls.  And this year was a beautiful fall day for a run and I was able to get lots of pictures of  both girls and many extras that tell a great story.

Now for the extra part and a few definitions.
Principal (ˈprɪnsɪp ə l) — adj 1. first in importance, rank, value, etc; chief — n 3. a person who is first in importance or directs some event, action, organization, etc 6. the head of a school or other educational institution
Teach·er    [tee-cher] noun a person who teaches or instructs, especially as a profession; instructor.
These are some definitions I found on dictionary.com and no where in these do I see anything that defines what I saw at the fun run. The principal, the teachers, and the helpers were all helping some very special children participate in the fun run. The slideshow isn't working - so click on the picture below and it should take you to the web album and then you can click on slideshow there - sorry about that - something has changed and I'm still trying to learn what to do to fix it.

The children were running, walking, skipping, jumping, dancing or simply riding along - but all were enjoying the outdoors and having fun together. I hope these pictures can help tell the story that unfolded for me and maybe you will be touched as well. And if you see a teacher, helper and even a principal doing something that is not part of their defined role - try and let them know you appreciate their going the extra mile for the children!
